• Notes

  Married: Malcolm Storer says William married Sarah Starbuck on 23 Aug 1648. Torrey also says she was the Sarah Starbuck who married Joseph Austin and Humphrey Varney. (p, 715), yet elsewhere he has the widow Storer marrying Samuel Austin. There many problems with all this. Joseph Austin and Sarah Starbuck were having children from 1647 at least until 1655. Storer & Torrey online are just plain wrong. Since there seems to be an insistence on calling he Sarah Starbuck, perhaps she was a sister of Edward's instead?
