Marcy’s First Results
January 20, 2006 – 1:09 pmAfter participating in the Genographic Project, Marcy’s DNA sample was subjected to further, high-resolution mitochondrial testing. The results were returned in December 2005.
It was further determined that she was a member of haplogroup H3. Below is a map showing the distribution of this haplogroup – most notably western Europe, where it seems to have emerged from the Iberian peninsula sometime after the Last Glacial Maximum (LGM).
