John Grindle ⁽³⁰⁶⁸⁾⁽³⁰⁶⁹⁾⁽²⁰³⁾⁽³⁰⁷⁰⁾ was born about 1685 in Berwick, York Co., Maine.⁽³⁰⁷¹⁾ He died about 1739.⁽²⁰³⁾⁽³⁰⁷²⁾ He was a mariner.⁽²⁰³⁾ He was married to Sarah Leavitt on 10 Aug 1712 in Portsmouth, Rockingham Co., New Hampshire.⁽³⁰⁷³⁾⁽³⁰⁷⁴⁾⁽³⁰⁷⁵⁾ Due to the similarities in the cursive "L" and "S", Sarah Levit was corrupted to Sarah Sevil (later Savil). At the time of this marriage there were no Savilles (Seville, Savil) in the area, only Leavitts.

145. Sarah Leavitt⁽³⁰⁷⁶⁾⁽³⁰⁷⁷⁾⁽⁴⁹⁷⁾⁽³⁰⁷⁸⁾⁽³⁰⁷⁹⁾ was born about 1685 in Berwick, York Co., Maine.⁽³⁰⁸⁰⁾ She was also known as Sarah Sevil.⁽³⁰⁸¹⁾⁽²⁰³⁾ Children were:

i. Eliphelet Grindle.

iii. Ichabod Grindle was born about 1715.
iv. Sarah Grindle⁽³⁰⁸²⁾ was born about 1718. She was baptized on 5 Jan 1718.
