Francis Godfrey was born about 1590 in Bath, co. Somerset, England. He had a grant of land in 1638 in Duxbury, Plymouth Co., Massachusetts. He signed a will on 29 Oct 1666. He died in 1669. His estate was probated on 30 Jul 1669. He was a carpenter and bridge builder. He was married to Elizabeth Hall in 1621.

Elizabeth Hall was born about 1602 in England. Children were:

i. Elizabeth Godfrey was born about 1625. She died on 1 Nov 1680 in Bridgewater, Plymouth Co., Massachusetts.
ii. Richard Godfrey was born in 1631. He died in 1691 in Taunton, Bristol Co., Massachusetts.
