He was deeded 21 acres of land from his father in Naugatuck, New Haven County, Connecticut about 1760.189 He served in the Connecticut Militia.189 Lieutenant in the Revolution and was in the action against Burgoyne at Saratoga. He also served for two years in the "Ring-bone" Company of sixty minute-men commanded by Capt. Josiah Terrell, and was out on two short tours as Stamford and New Haven, CT. In a document dated 1 Jan 1778, Capt. John Lewis Jr complained that his Lieutenant, Ira Beebe, lead off a large number of his company contrary to his orders. Lt.
